Clients

Pelican Lodge will be occupied by EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) companies, and major sub-contractors. The facility will follow the same Safety and HR requirements as the EPC’s require on their project locations. Residents will be domestic workers or of foreign origin as specified by the EPC’s and/or sub-contractors.

Occupants

The residents of Pelican Lodge are employed, hard working people that will benefit the local economy by spending dollars throughout the community. Residents are expected to live on location for 1 to 3 years depending on the demand for their skill set.

Community Impacts

Pelican Lodge provides specific traffic plans which explain routes, entrances, exits, and traffic control. The Pelican Lodge transportation plan reduces traffic impact by removal of large numbers of vehicles off the highways. We will utilize local labor and local business in every way possible. We will communicate and work with local leadership, businesses, and law enforcement through monthly meetings.

Security

The Pelican Lodge facility will incorporate the highest level of security in the industry. The facility will have controlled access, 24 hr patrol, CCTV surveillance, and specific rules with zero tolerance.

The extensive expansion of local industry and construction jobs in Lake Charles and surrounding areas, brings forth a challenge – the workforce to handle these projects. It’s inevitable, there will be an influx of laborers and tradesmen from around the country and other areas of the world that will be coming into our area, which therefore brings another challenge – housing.

The banner facility of GLS is Pelican Lodge, a first of its kind facility in that it is the largest of its kind ever to be built in the United States, currently designed to house 4,000 people, but also unique in its turnkey offering of providing accommodations, catering/facility management and transportation of workers to and from the various project sites thereby enabling the projects to maximize their own limited space. Pelican Lodge will also provide first class recreational facilities and a variety of retail stores.
